More site specific and installation > Suspended Lives

Suspended Lives was a 2015 site specific, public installation in one of the historic houses in Nolan Park on Governors Island, NYC. The installation consisted of box structures in which old pieces of furniture were suspended by threads, yarn and rope. Suspended Lives was at once displaying and preserving a collection of old, broken objects as well as making them unaccessible, useless and hard to see. Considering the location, the piece was a contemplation of the nature of conservation and preservation in general.
