Loops is a series of space explorations. Encircling, enclosing space, describing flight patterns. Air and light are important, as is chance. Going in circles, trying to catch what was there.
Like many of my series Loops feel architectural in their linear being and behave like drawn depictions of spaces.
They have the urban, yet handmade character of constructivist art and in those terms refer to analog machines, rather than technology. They obey on the rules of gravity and their shapes are solely dependent on weight, stretching and the way the wood wants to bend.
I like these works to have a feel of something exposed, stripped or abandoned. Something maybe not completely meant to be seen.
